Get Ready for a One-of-a-Kind Dental Experience

Welcome! We’re so glad you’re interested in Belmont Family Dentistry, and we’re looking forward to meeting you in person. Below, we’ve compiled some important information for our new patients to review, ranging from what you can expect at your first visit to information about our patient forms. If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to call our team for assistance!

Your First Visit

Wondering what to expect during your first visit? First of all, know that all of us are committed to making sure you feel appreciated and comfortable from the instant you walk through our front doors to the moment we wave goodbye. Your health and dental needs are our top priority, and we’ll give you the most thorough and enjoyable dental experience possible.

Expect to be greeted warmly by one of our patient coordinators. They will answer any questions you have before getting you settled in our cozy reception area. Once you’re ready, one of our wonderful dental assistants will welcome you. She’ll show you into one of our exam rooms before she looks over your paperwork to make sure everything is in order. Next, she’ll take a few X-rays and photographs of your mouth. X-rays help Dr. Tinkle, Dr. Yoon, or Dr. Callan diagnose necessary treatment as well as any potential problems.

If you’ve had relatively recent dental care, you’ll get the chance to meet one of our gentle dental hygienists. Depending on your needs, they’ll clean your teeth and provide you with the preventative services best suited for you. They’ll also give you some great tips on keeping your teeth and gums in tip-top shape.

Next in is Dr. Tinkle, Dr. Yoon or Dr. Callan, who will give you a thorough exam, checking for oral cancer and diagnosing any other dental needs. Once the exam is finished, your dentist will develop a customized treatment plan designed to transform your teeth for the better. Your dentist will also give you time to go over all your options and answer any questions you may have.

Before you leave, make sure you chat with our team if you have any questions about your insurance or finances.

Patient Forms

Our new patient forms are easy to fill out. After you call our front desk and schedule your first appointment with us, our team will text you a link to fill them out. This way, you don’t have to worry about doing so in our waiting area!

Dental Insurance

Dental insurance is a great benefit to our patients. If you have dental insurance, we will bill them as a courtesy. Pre-determinations are sometimes very helpful, especially if the treatment exceeds $500.

We want you to know that our relationship is with you, not the insurance company. As such, you are responsible for knowing the terms, limitations, and exclusions of your dental insurance plan, and are financially responsible for all care rendered in our office. If you are having trouble understanding the terms of your insurance plan, calling them directly is your best option. However, our front office staff will gladly help you to the best of their ability, so that there are fewer surprises.

Billing Policies

In an effort to keep dental costs down while maintaining a high level of professional care, we have established the following billing policies for our patients

  • All payments are required at the time of service.
  • Statements are sent out prior to the 30th of the month with payments due by the 15th.
  • We gladly accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, debit cards, and any health savings cards.
  • For private pay patients, we will require a down payment of “one-half of the total fee prior to initiating treatment.” The second half is due when the treatment is completed.

For all major treatments and treatments that involve laboratory procedures:

  • For our private pay patients, we offer a 5% discount when paying with a check or cash.
  • If insurance is involved, the patient pays their ESTIMATED PORTION and then we bill your insurance for the remainder of the cost. Insurance takes approximately 30 days to process and pay their portion. If there is any remaining balance after insurance pays, we will send you a statement billing for the difference (after confirming with your insurance company, of course).
