Restorative Dentistry Portland
Rebuilding Your Smile’s Strength & Structure

At Belmont Family Dentistry, we provide compassionate, comprehensive restorative dental care services to the Southeast Portland area and surrounding communities. Restorative dental care focuses on restoring the function, integrity, and morphology of a missing tooth structure resulting from tooth decay (dental caries), deterioration (weakening) of a previously placed restoration, or fracture of a tooth. Examples of dental restorations include bonding, bridges, crowns, fillings, implants, and dentures. Dental restorations bring back your natural smile and prevent future oral health issues.
Dr. Tinkle, Dr. Callan, and Dr. Yoon are highly trained and experienced in replacing or restoring missing teeth or missing parts of the tooth structure. At Belmont Family Dentistry, we offer the following restorative dental care services.

Dental Fillings

Fillings are the most common type of dental restoration used to treat cavities or to repair damage to teeth caused by teeth grinding. There are three kinds of fillings: gold, amalgam (silver) and composite resin (tooth-colored fillings). A gold filling is usually the most durable kind of filling. Amalgam fillings are also incredibly hardy, and they don’t cost as much as gold fillings. A composite resin is the most popular kind of filling because it blends in with the color of your teeth. Tooth-colored fillings, though not as tough as gold and amalgam, look the most natural.
Dental Crowns

Dental crowns are small cap-like restorations that are custom designed to fit atop prepared teeth to strengthen and protect them. They’re typically recommended after placing a large cavity filling or root canal treatment as an additional layer of fortification for these teeth. Our team uses high-quality and durable dental materials to craft them out of as well, allowing your protected tooth to stay functional and comfortable for years to come.

CEREC Same-Day Crowns

Instead of taking upwards of three weeks and requiring you to take multiple days off of work to restore your smile, our team at Belmont Family Dentistry is able to craft and place a dental crown in-house in a single appointment. Our team will capture a digital impression and send the dental crown design directly to our in-house milling machine. From here, our milling machine will sculpt your dental crown from a solid block of porcelain, and our team will be able to place it atop your prepared tooth within hours!
